I have become of fan of anything Kennedy. I attribute this to my mom who is a huge fan and a Kennedy scholar in her own right.
In a matter of 8.4 seconds three shots were fired and one man, Lee Harvey Oswald, changed the United States forever, caused the entire globe to grieve, and solidified himself in American history as the villain who assassinated the 35th President of the United States John F. Kennedy. Dive deep into the historic day of November 22, 1963, and discover shocking details and little-known facts surrounding this great American mystery and tragedy.
I would definitely recommend this book to young adult readers. I think this book would appeal to teens ages 12-13. Further, I think because the book is fast paced, suspenseful, informative, action packed, thought provoking, and emotional that it would interest a diverse group of teens, not just those who like history and/or true crime. The book features numerous visual elements including photographs and diagrams allowing the reader to accurately visualize a play-by-play account of the day of the assassination and the following days. Thus, there are no long stretches of text, and it creates a fast read; therefore I think this book would have great appeal to reluctant readers and readers alike. Finally, the book is accurately referenced and provides numerous details for further reader investigation and interests.
